ENOSERV developed PowerBase to help different workgroups get connected and know what’s going on with relays. By offering a database that shares critical relay data across several platforms, PowerBase helps companies achieve a complete, secure, and accurate repository for relay lifecycle data, including test records and settings.

PowerBase is a substation settings management system that stores, tracks & shares relay data from testing software like RTS and ProTesT to system simulation software like CAPE, and even to overall maintenance management systems like Cascade. By providing a common location for all relay data to reside, PowerBase connects different P&C workgroups in a way that still allows independence and flexibility for a system-wide solution that helps Users manage immense amounts of relay data securely.

PowerBase eliminates the manual paper-based process of transferring setting sheets and reporting test results. Instead of volumes of paper records, PowerBase holds electronic records of all relay lifecycle data including test results, test routines and settings. Because the relay records in PowerBase import and export electronically between other systems, manual entry errors are eliminated and reporting becomes automatic. No other system will enable quicker, more accurate, or clearer analyses of a relay’s condition.

PowerBase features an interface that gives Users the option of viewing a relay settings file either vertically (for editing) or horizontally (for comparing). Comparing settings files in PowerBase is easy; differences highlight in yellow guiding the User’s eye to the data between records that are different.

The status of a settings record can be updated (i.e., “Pending” to “Tested”) by the User and PowerBase will record the change that was made, who did it, and when it was done. Extensive security options ensure Users the appropriate access rights to the data. Multiple Users can access and move data simultaneously.

PowerBase is the only database system available that supports both upstream and downstream engineering data. Relay test results from the field with the active, in-service settings automatically populate PowerBase. System modeling data and the relay settings derived from engineering also automatically populate PowerBase. What results is a seamless master repository for all sets of substation settings, free of confusing, redundant entries between engineering and the field.

The true power of ENOSERV PowerBase is the interoperability of this database system with other engineering software. This functionality is unmatched and performs well for utility companies, regardless of operating structure. From the co-op to the municipality to the investor-owned utility, PowerBase is the solution for perfecting a total computerized asset management system from the relay in the field to overall supervisory review. This level of performance becomes valuable for ensuring regulatory compliance is met both efficiently and effectively.
